Rauschenburg ws born in Port Arthur, TX in 1925. He first saw himself as a Minister then a pharmacist. While he was in the U.S. Military in 1947, he discoverd his drawing talent and interaests for the arts. He studied in Paris but quickly became disencahnted with the European scene. He then moved to North Carolina where the country's most visionary artists and thinkers were teaching at Black Mountain College. He then later moved to New York to make life asw a painter. He has great enthusiasm for popular cutlure and the abstract expressionist. He wanted to to find a new way of painting. His signature mode by embracing matierials traditionally outside an artists reach.
His work is different because he finds images or photographs and collage them together in themes. It then looks like he uses paint and blends them together. His themes consist of settings, time periods, and a lot of color that balance eachother out.

year long theme
For my year long theme I was thinking of past and present. I have a lot of old pictures in boxes that I think i would enjoy working with. Maybe updating the color or improving the picture as much as I can. Since i don't have my own digital camera of my own at the moment, I think chosing to do the present will be an insitive for me to get one. I have a lot of fun with my friends and if i had a camera to carry around with me to capture all our crazy times, i think i could come up with some pretty awsome pictures.
